The Universe flies
My soul is the landing strip
The journey begins
Ok, ok...let me see a show of hands of those of you who didn't think I had it in me to pull a Haiku out of my ass and on to the screen here. Hmmmm...just what I suspected....you can all put your hands down now :)
I've got a LONG list of things I want to do and learn. My top two this week are learning to play my Conga drum properly and learning to write Haiku. Actually, I've been lurking around some poetry sites for a while and, believe me, I'm no lurker. When the spirit moves me to be passionate, I jump right in; I don't need to secretly watch. But there's something about poetry though that turns me in to a voyeur. For such a long time, I'd say to myself that I could never sit and write verses; then I came across some Haiku sites.....I was really hooked. Just the idea that there are numbers involved (the five-seven-five syllable thing) and short writing. Yesterday at the office, I found myself picking up a pad of paper and writing Haiku. I love words and I love to write. The process of writing Haiku makes me have to be more creative in my thought process. It's a perfect marriage. That's right, I've found my perfect mate...he he! AND my Haiku doesn't leave the toilet seat up, hog the remote control or act like an emotionally stunted 5 year old. Perfect.
And as long as we're on the topic of five year olds and game playing....yesterday I got an invite to attend a most unusual photo shooting meet-up in March. Here's the description:
Picture this: the adult version of candyland! bright colorful sets based on the board game candyland.oversized lollipops, cottoncandy beaches, soda fountain forest! nude models air brushed with candycane swirls, and large oversized hair adorned with delicious sweets. fashions of sexy extravagance ! Oh, I am SO there! Who knew Candyland wasn't just for kids?! Here are the cupcakes I whipped up last night:

Well, I would only expect a beautiful haiku from an ass like that! :) And that photo shoot - sounds delicious. Hope you're going to share the visuals on that one with us.
